The study deals with a small sculpture of the Virgin Mary from a Chateau Chapple in Janovice u Rýmařova, now held in The Silesian Museum in Opava. This sculpture is a copy of the famous early renaissance statue of the Virgin Mary today kept in the Germanishes Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg.

The study seeks to provide a brief overview of the history of the Catholic parish by the Church of St. Wenceslas in
Velká Polom in the Opava region, specifically until the end of the 17th century. In Velká Polom, sometime between
the last quarter of the 15th and the first quarter of the 16th century, a new late Gothic brick church was built, which still stands in the village today. The paper is based primarily on the study of sources. The author focused primarily on the spiritual administrator of the parish, the parish Church of St. Wenceslas and its contents, parish dwellings, the extent of the parish district and the position of the parish in the context of the development of church administration.

The study deals with the builder Florián Jilg from Těšín. It describes his activities in Těšín and details both the construction of the evangelical church in Bystřice and the parish church in Hnojník, as well as the construction and reconstruction of houses in Těšín according to Jilgo’s plans. It characterizes Jilg’s architecture in the broader context of architecture and in comparison with the work of local builders. As a regional construction master and city builder, Florián Jilg was one of the important figures of classicism in the region of Těšín.

The contribution deals with the evaluation of the exhibition activity in Rýmařov in the period from 1945 to 1989 and the subsequent thirty-year operation of the Octopus Gallery located in the Municipal Museum in Rýmařov, taking into account the nearest gallery centres, i.e. the exhibition activities of Jindřich Štreit in Sovinec, the unofficial grouping of VSUV artists in Uničov, the activities of Galerie V kapli (Chapel Gallery) in Bruntál and Jiří Jílek Gallery in Šumperk.
